Introduction

Hello student!

Welcome to the Comparative Chordate Anatomy website. This website is designed for students in Biology 351 at Iowa State University and acts as a supplement to the class material.

This site covers the following systems:

  •
  • Muscular systems of the Squalus, Necturus, and rabbit
  • Nervous systems of the  Squalus and sheep.
  • Digestive and respiratory system of the Squalus, Necturus, pigeon, and rabbit
  • Sense organs including a cow eye and a model human ear.

How to use the website.

Use this website to preview lab material or to review what you have seen after lab. Please remember that this site cannot replace actually seeing the dissections in person.

The dissections are separated by system and then by animal. The layout should closely follow your lab packets.

On each page, there will be slide shows beside a list of terms you need to know.

The slide show on the left covers the list of terms on its right.

Please click on the slide show to see the entire image and to see the key to the labeled parts!
